Marya, the owner is personable and has curated a lovely collection of diverse and inclusive books. Kind of like stepping into a magic little room at Hogwarts or something od the sort. Employees and patrons write concise book recommendations to spotlight current reads. This is a sweet locally owned spot with some nifty small gift options/ ideas too. Go check it out. You won't be disappointed.

I am voracious reader so bookstores are my lifeblood and Out west is the main artery to my heart. Despite being a tiny little store Marya has separate sections for different genres that aren’t so overwhelming I get lost. There are separate sections for adult puzzles and kids puzzles, activity books, cookbooks and of course, my personal favorite, naughty greeting cards. All of the staff are so friendly and have yet to tell me they need some space as I am in the store at least 3 times a week. If fact I’m headed there now.

My favorite bookstore in Grand Junction! The staff is really helpful and knowledgeable and have great recommendations! Anything they don’t have in stock you can order online and still support them which I love! My 2 year old loves going too and they are always so welcoming of him ☺️

This is a lovely store with a lovely staff! They have amazing taste in books and if you can't find something? They'll order it for you! The prices are great and their selection of non-book related items (stickers, journals, toys) is surprisingly extensive. I've been to the store twice in 2 weeks and I'll definitely be back!

My Family and I have been going to Out West for books since before our son was born. We love taking trips in to find new adventures, with the help of the lovely staff. Everyone who works at Out West (Especially the wonderful owner) is helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. Never be afraid to ask for help finding a book, they'll even place special orders. The layout of the store, the selection, the excellent children's section, and the warmth of the atmosphere will make you want to come back again and again.

As a librarian I love to browse local bookstores as we travel. This is a lovely bookstore with the best collection I have seen of children and middle grade books in a privately owned bookstore. The owner was friendly and is well read. I highly suggest a stop at this cozy store.

I love Out West books. The sweet women at the front desk always helps me and recommends the best items. I love to buy books for my family and this is where I go to get the best quality and amazing service.

My favorite shop in Grand Junction. Owned by the kindest person you’ll ever meet & has amazing staff. Support your favorite local small business!!!! Even though I live in Denver, I still think of this place all the time.
